Really loved how the language of the book danced throughout. The setting and the mystery is great but the language is what I enjoyed the most. A little Gabriel Garcia Marquez ;)
It does get dark, darker than I am used to but that is OK, there is a wry sense of understanding and a truth of living that really echoes through. Definitely would recommend for others and will read more of this author.
it does take some dark and strange paths but I followed along happily. I love fantasy done well so I was happy.
Some lovely entwining of themes as well.
I love the folklore old storytellers angle as well. Felt like I was on a mysterious journey with the characters as well.
