Well, I've never even read book one but this seems pretty interesting.
The opening chapter makes you wonder about the murderer. Who he is, what he did, what he's going to do etc and it works well. The following chapters draw you into the beginning of the case and how it's going to happen. That reads like a typical Sara Shepard story and introduced a rather unlikable character as well as some decent ones.
It also read a little older than I was expecting but that's not necessarily a bad thing.
