I am actually surprised at how non-sycophantic the chapters included in the First Impression are. Having read extracts from Andrew Morton's book about the late Princess I have formed my own opinions of her based on her own words. I was expecting this book to be all how wonderful she was and what a tyrant Prince Charles was and yet it doesn't do that. It actually paints a quite sympathetic portrait of both of them. Some of that is to be expected as there could be major repercussions for the author if this was not the case, however, he does seem sincere.
