I was thrilled to receive my reading copy of Guarding Diana . I was always a huge fan of Diana , admiring her beauty and charm . Never more so than when it became apparent that her marriage to Prince Charles was not the fairy story it seemed ,
With hindsight it should have been obvious from the Royal Engagement when the couple were asked if they were in love .Diana blushed and said of course !
Charles said "Whatever love is "
This book covers the period from 1988 until 1993 and the author Ken Wharfe spent much of his time as her personal bodyguard arranging Royal visits and private holidays for Diana . He tried to smooth out any unforeseen snags and hardest of all keeping the photographers at bay . No easy task ! The two main things which shine through this book are Diana's great need for privacy or normality as she called it and her great desire to do good with her life . To be known as someone with a burning desire to help the less fortunate . I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book .
