I wasn't initially convinced that this book would be for me but I was interested to find out more about Diana's life from such a unique inside perspective. Inspector Ken Wharfe spent many years as a Royal Protection Officer, a job that afforded him an insight into a world that most people could only imagine.

I was concerned that the book would be a fawning account of how wonderful Diana was and how difficult and lonely her life was, despite her wealth and entitlement. However, Wharfe gives a very honest and "real" view of Diana and her life, especially as her marriage was starting to fall apart and how she coped with this. His descriptions of her relationships with her sons were touching. And the fact that Wharfe was the only survivor of the terrible crash that took her life made his writing all the more tragic.

I would therefore recommend this book to everyone, well worth a read.
