I like the authors writing style and the plot does sound good, but not unheard off think SS-GB by Len Deighton and Fatherland by Robert Harris. That being said the author is perhaps trying to put another spin on the genre. It is a strong beginning and I think anyone who likes this genre will like the book, however it is not for me.
