This is a good, solid piece of historical fiction about those who work closest to Hitler. I loved the characterisation throughout, and really appreciated the authors world building - he made the 2nd world war feel fresh and new to read, something which I think doesn't happen very often at all.

I initially chose this title due to its eye-catching cover, but I have since reading it fallen for its storyline too. This book is suited to anyone with a love of high quality historical fiction, and anyone who loves thrillers - its a good mash-up of the two genres.

I must admit, I found the story hard to follow in places, as this is #4 in a series. However, it doesn't take the reader long to fall into the swing of the over-arching narrative!
