This unfortunately wasn't the book for me. It is completely different to any book I have read before and it certainly isn't my usual genre, but as I had been teaching World War II to year six children I thought this might be a good read for me. It was interesting and I was impressed with the writing and the story but it just wasn't for me overall. I didn't find myself reaching for it when I had a spare fifteen minutes like I usually do when I'm in the middle of a book. However, I do not want this review to taint the views of anyone who might be considering this book for their next read. It is well-written and interesting and great if this genre is your kind of thing, but it just wasn't for me.
