Hitler's Secret is another hugely enjoyable book by Rory Clements about the wartime exploits of Professor Tom Wilde, an American professor at Cambridge University. Once again Professor Wilde is caught up in undercover work during the second world war. It always seems that he is reluctant to involve himself and take huge risks particularly now that his partner and he have a child but his sense of duty comes to the fore and he goes off to aid the war effort in whatever way he can. This way invariably leads him into very tense and dangerous situations, this time inside Germany itself which shouldn't be as risky for him as the US have yet to enter the war however it is increasingly obvious that it can only be a matter of time. While Professor Widle is in Germany the Japanese carry out the attack on Pearl Harbour with the inevitable result that the US is at war with Japan and Germany leaving Professor Wilde to escape to the UK by whatever means he can along with the 'package' he has been entrusted to collect. Once again Rory Clements has delivered a brilliantly written book. As this book takes Professor Wilde, and his readers, into 1942 with more than three years of war remaining I, and many others, will be hoping to hear more from Rory Clements about Professor Wilde.
