A second world war page-turner of a novel based on the intriguing premise that Hitler has a secret daughter, conceived before his rise to power, and the daughter could play an important role in turning the tide of the war against Germany.

Set in 1941, I found that all of the characters were very well-rendered and have likeable (or at least interesting) features no matter which "side" they are on.

I enjoyed the pacing of the chapters and the overall tone, and the flipping between Germany and rural England (Bletchley Park-esque venues in English country cottages) which was full of spies in safe houses, communicating in codes and shaking off their shadows when prowling around the cities.

I understand that there is an entire series with the lead character, Tom Wilde, the Cambridge professor turned spy, and would enjoy reading more in this style.
