I found the cover design/colour and the illustrations very attractive and can imagine my eye being caught if I saw this book on display in a bookshop. As I'm often drawn to YA fiction I was looking forward to reading the 'sneak preview'. However, although I think the storytelling is good, it seems more likely to appeal to the younger end of the target readership and doesn't appeal to me. I'm also put off by the fact that it's the first book in a planned trilogy!
