A Young Adult Read Suitable for Adults Too
An interesting read that we bought for our library even though we don't usually have young adult fiction (it is a membership library for people aged over 16). So far those members who have borrowed it have really enjoyed it.
I enjoyed the transformation of Leah's life and how she views the world. Having windows instead of chapters was extremely clever and the illustrations were beautiful. I would have adored this book as a 14 year-old and would have really identified with Leah - it would have been one of those books like I Capture The Castle that I would have kept and read again as an adult many times. I was rooting for Leah throughout the novel especially when she started to broaden her horizons, understanding more about life and meeting new and interesting people.
I would recommend this as a good buy for anyone looking for a present for their niece/nephew/child of an appropriate age.
