Firstly let's talk about windows vs chapters. There are no chapters in this book, only windows, which is something I've not seen before... it's not really explained why the author uses this as a device instead of the traditional but it is a refreshing change.
Secondly, the illustrations in this book are absolutely beautiful and made a change from the usual adult books that I read.
I wasn't entirely sure I totally 'got' the story though, and think perhaps that was because I'm not the right demographic. With it covering a range of topics from anxiety, philosophy, climate change, bullying, and teenage topics like first love and how you see yourself I felt like this could be better for teenagers and, if older people are reading it, perhaps it would be well suited as a book club style book with some discussion questions.
Overall thank you Readers First for the advance copy!
