Nice book, shame about the words.
Although I am not part of the target audience for this book it appealed to me.
Sadly I found it disappointing.
I didn’t take to the main character, Leah, at all and I felt that her transformative experience just wasn’t believable. In fact, at times I simply didn’t like her at all. Whilst it isn’t always essential to like the main character I feel that in a book like this its pretty much a necessity.
I didn’t feel that the factual content was presented very well. I felt that the children were just grabbing facts from the internet to give them content, rather than researching their subject.
The character I did like was Kayleigh and I have been left wondering what her story would have been like.
I also liked the layout of the book and the illustrations.
Thank you to Readers First, Eminent and Mark Ballabon for the ARC in return for my honest review.
