A propulsive and darkly disturbing thriller - captivating opening..
Woah! A First Impression jam packed with information and intrigue from Jesse’s accident at age 13, his memory issues and a macabre delivery to neighbour, Artur. Whilst the novel appears to be very dark in its contents the breakneck pace of the opening meant I was able to take it in my stride and wanted to know more rather than being horrified, which is the perfect recipe for a hardcore thriller!
There was enough warmth in the characterisation of Jesse to make me connect with him and his affection and devotion to his daughter, Isa, is already evident. I immediately have sympathy for his plight and feel motivated to read on and follow his rocky ride.. A visceral and haunting read.. bring it on!
