This started off really well and was instantly interested in the characters. In the prologue a young boy has been kidnapped by another boy, tied up and forced into a pit. We are then taken 20 or so years into the future and the same boy is now grown up and has a daughter. He refers to what happened as an accident and we gather that he doesn't remember much or chooses not to. The relationship between the dad and the daughter is nicely written. From the blurb it looks as though something happens to the daughter and I am wondering if its connected to what happens at the beginning.
