A decent thriller with enough twists to keep you interested to the end.
Jesse Berg tries to rescue his abducted daughter after his ex-wife is murdered and the journey makes him revisit his past, most of which he can’t remember due to the post-trauma amnesia he suffered as a teenager.
The misdirects are well handled and lead you to think the story is headed in one direction before swerving to the opposite. The main handful of characters are well-formed and I especially warmed to Isabelle, Jesse’s daughter.
The story is well-paced and whilst it isn’t a book that will stay with me for any length of time I found myself reading quicker and quicker as I got nearer to the end. The writing style is easy and flows well. A solid example of this genre.
