This has a great premise, but doesn't live up to the sum of its parts. Points are laboured to the point of repetitiveness....oh it's a 'childrens home AND boarding school'? Ok...oh you're saying that again...and again...it's an important point then?....oh, so another reminder?...one more time? just in case it hasn't been hammered home enough yet? Either there was a word count to fulfill or subtlety has totally been abandoned here.

The 'plot twist' really isn't one if it's so obvious from early on, and I defy anyone not to work it out there are so many signposts.

I tried to like it...the time jumping should have worked, and the setting should have worked, but it just didn't....characters weren't drawn well enough that I liked or cared what happened to them.....there are far better books in this genre out there.
