Young Amir is coming to terms with being gay in an Iranian family. One of his class-mates finds out and blackmails him. Since Amir is unable to pay up and doesn't want to be around when his family find out he decides to run away to Italy. The extract of the book was easy to read and flowed well but the subject matter is not one that appeals to me so I would not be interested in reading any further however I'm sure it would probably appeal to others.
