I have to rate this book very highly, because it was extremely thought provoking. In many ways it was a difficult book to read, but so worth it. It secretly made me feel a little uncomfortable, but in a good way. I totally understood why Amir ran away and my heart went out to him. However, I could also put myself in the position of his parents. This was a delema I never had to deal with with my own children. I felt both sorry for and annoyed by his parents attitudes. This new revelation was suffocating their image of their perfect son. All the characters in the book had great story lines. I admired how they all came together to envelope Amir in a friendship blanket. I loved all the characters for looking after him. They all had their own trials and tribulations, which made them all the more real. I am glad I bought this book with my points. I feel honoured to have been let inside the authors world.
