This is about a gay Muslim boy who is trying to open up to his family. Immediately you learn that he was in Rome then in a fight on a plane, then being interviewed at the airport. It’s a little hard to keep track, but it got me hooked and gives a good reason why the story is here. After that you start reading from the start of his story. The main character is likeable, awkward and funny. His boyfriend is equally nice and you get to see the common hardships gay people go through. It seems very real and it’s very easy to read. The storyline isn’t too hard to follow. All in all a great book. It has a great first person perspective which leaves you guessing at the start since you can’t ‘hear’ the interviewers questions. You know what’s he’s thinking but it’s not too jumbled. You don’t really hear much about his family at the start but it doesn’t really bother me. It’s a fab book. Would read again
