When Amir finds himself being blackmailed by a bully at school & threatened to be outed to his parents - he escapes to Rome.

I found this book very easy to read and enjoyed reading the same story from different perspectives at different points in time. All the characters were well written and I really enjoyed the input of Amir’s sister. I felt she was the voice that Amir felt he didn’t have and would say the things that Amir wished he could say. I enjoyed the fact that it was set in Rome and that the Author described the food, the people, culture, entertainment - even the houses.

Though the quick escape to Rome at the beginning of the book wasn't believable, the rest of the story felt authentic. The Author did a brilliant job of managing to tell a serious story with real issues in a light hearted, easy to read way. The Author told a coming of age story which felt incredibly personal, I would highly recommend this book.
