This is a coming of age novel, told from a different point of view which is both interesting and refreshing in a saturated market.
This book really got me thinking as it explored areas I hadn’t thought of before and for that I am grateful.
I loved the character of Amur and how it really focused on him and his family. Lots of books can get caught up in the ‘love interest’ so again this was different and refreshing to read.
I think for a young adult book, exploring such complex themes, it really shows how Amir comes to terms with himself in a well written way. The author has done a great job with this and feel that young adults and adults alike could learn a lot from this.
I really liked the scenes that were set in the interview room and felt this added a little excitement to the book.
This is definitely an author I would read again and hope they will write more in the future!
