This book follows the story of Amir who is being blackmailed for being gay - because of this he feels he has no choice but to run away on the day of his graduation from his Muslim family for fear of being exposed. He ends up in Italy with group of new gay friends, where he begins to learn acceptance and how to be comfortable being himself.

I liked the back-and-forth of storytelling and interviews at the airport. The writing style was fast paced, punchy and the book easy to read in one sitting, I just felt it was a underdeveloped story at the end..it just felt lacking and rushed to the climax after a promising build up.

A great potential storyline with an emotive and very relevant to the times subject matter. I enjoy the fact this opens up discussions around sexuality and faith, but I didn't quite warm to the characters. Would be happy to read further books from this author.
