I have enjoyed quite a few books from Hot Key Press over the last number of months and How it All Blew Up is another that I can add to that list! It is a story told from multiple perspectives but mainly from Amir, a young man who finds the idea of coming out to his parents so problematic that he ends up leaving the country to avoid the problem! He finds himself drawn to Rome and when in Rome finds himself! The book starts after a fracas on the plane home with his family and then we get glimpses from his parents and sister as to how the whole situation arose. This is a nice read, covers important issues but in a fun and mostly light hearted way. I would quite like to read more by Arvin Ahmadi after this!
