Now, I really wanted to enjoy this book but I had some issues with it. There are lots of young adult books that deal with sexuality and acceptance and this is not one of the best ones. The majority of the book is about sex and discovery but it makes fun at it rather than accepts it. The characters were very original but I think there was some cultural appropriation going on from the Italian culture as it was very stereotypical. However saying that the Muslim cultural representation was really good especially when the family was taken by customs at the airport. This is important as this often happens in real life. I really like the cover of the book though as it is very vibrant and inviting. Personally I couldn’t relate to the main character as I am not male, gay or Muslim but I still enjoyed the overall Arching story and thought the plot was good.
