I enjoyed it!
"How It All Blew Up" tells the story of Amir Azadi - a young gay man who due to being scared to tell his parents of his sexuality and the blackmail from a fellow student, makes the decision to run away to Rome, where he finds a community of other gay men who open up new doors for him.
I enjoyed reading this book - I thought the characters were interesting, Amir's decision making was perhaps questionable...but this made for an intriguing plot!
I liked reading the different perspectives - his family's voices especially I found really interesting (and I wish there had maybe been a bit more from them!)
The chapters shifted between Amir's travels and an airport interrogation room - the writing style switched between them to give each a clear voice, although at times the transitions were a little jarring.
Overall, a good book.
