It seems like such a good story. It showcase amir and Muslim gay kid who has finally found someone he likes and can be himself with. But then two bullies take a picture of him and his date kissing and threaten to show it to his parents if he doesn't send them $1000. Scqred to come out he decides to do what they say but is then told that the 1000 he sent is not enough and he must give the 3000 more. Trying his best to make up the money he finds that no matter what he does he is still a 1000 short l. Not wanting to have to come out to his parents he thinks he should just disappear.
This is such a good book as it makes you think about yhe affect of culture on young children and make you also notice how Muslims young and old are treated around the world.
