This is quite an unusual book, it's based on real life and has a combination of storytelling and interview style writing.

The first thing I want to say is that I bloody loved this book! It's not often you find a book with an Asian Protagonist, let alone an Asian Protagonist whose gay, and that's why I loved it. Being gay in an Asian family is quite a taboo I feel, but having never experienced it, it's hard to fully understand it. Arvin Ahmadi might perhaps be one of my favourite authors after this book. He's written it based on his own exoeriences, but it isn't a memoir or a biography which is why I enjoyed it so much!

An important feature of this was seeing the differences between how the character's sister reacted compared to his parents. You can see the traditional side of his parents coming out, trying really hard to be okay with everything but it also being very new to them, whilst on the other hand, his sister is all good and just doesn't care (Not in a bad way, she's just like "You do you".) I absolutely loved this book and I am so lucky that I got to read it!!
