I really enjoyed this book right from the very start. Amir was such a likable character and I felt very protective over him and wanted the best for him throughout the book. The friends he meets in Italy are really well written and I like how we got to know them rather than just have them mentioned and not know any back story. However I would have liked his Muslim background to be developed more, it was only mentioned and it would have been good to go deeper into it. I feel like if the book was a little bit longer then this could have been done.

I also really liked how the book was structured, the different POV's of Amir's family in the interrogation rooms followed by the events in Italy which lead to Amir's parents finding him and the confrontation on the plane. I found this really engaging and it made you want to keep reading to find out what would happen next.

This is a really quick and easy read. If you are a fan of YA novels and LGBTQ+ novels then I would 100% recommend this book.
