I don’t like to give bad reviews and I tried really hard to find something that I liked about this book but I couldn’t find many things.
I didn’t like the story. I thought it was too unrealistic, quite flat, dull, with turns that didn’t make it more interesting and with an end that didn’t do anything special.
I didn’t like the main character, Amir. I thought he was a little bit too dramatic for me, that didn’t face the situation he was in very well, that his reactions and behaviour was weird and that he went into this senseless “adventure” out of selfishness and without thinking in his family.
I also found his time in Rome not very credible. As a person that has moved countries, I found his arrival to Italy so easy, so perfect and so not real. As well as how his family finally reacted to the news.
Like I said, I hate not liking a book and I know I am not the public this book is written for, but I did not enjoy it!
