I am afraid this book disappointed me from the very start. The main character is Amir - his family are by his own admission not religious but this book is stated as muslim ! The way the book is written is bad , it just does not gel along the pages as Amir's story is told. This book should be about the young man's struggle to come out into the world as gay and what his family and the outside world would think of him but the language in the book does not flow. Some of the language used made me cringe - the author does not do well writing in some parts of this novel at all. I gave this book one star - but that was in part of the fact that I couldn't appoint zero stars !! In truth this book struggles from the start and is 250 pages of torture to get to the end
