This novel is about a young American from a Persian Muslim family. The young man is gay and scared of coming out to his family. The novel opens with him and his family being questioned in an Airport and tells the story through flashbacks of the last month. Towards school graduation he was being blackmailed and so scared he runs away to Italy. There he finds a set of friends he can be himself with and lives as a young guy man. However choices he makes might not always be the best and in the meantime his family are desperate to find him.
I found this novel very well written though about a deep subject it was light and easy to read. The characters are likeable and well rounded. I really enjoyed this book.
