I read this book in a day and I loved it!

So well written, it is so easy to read. I love the way it is half told in snippets from the interrogation rooms and half in narrative.

This book should be compulsory reading. It shows how being different is hard, but also how our own beliefs and insecurities often make up assume that things will be worse than they are.

Amir has to face being different as a Muslim in America, but at least he has his family to help him share this burden. In being gay he has to walk alone. In running away Amir finds a place he can be himself, he finds friends who support and challenge him, but he also realises how important his family are, and how things may take time but they will be ok.
