An inter generational story of journey and learning.

Kiki casts aside the aspirations and expectations of her Jewish family and travels to live with a man whom she eventually marries in Turkey. Once she returns to America she builds a relationship with her niece who as she enters adulthood has a child of her own and shares life with a succession of boyfriends. Kiki first learns of Boyd when her niece asks her to babysit to allow her to visit him in jail. Kiki tries to dissuade her niece from this relationship and when this does not work tries to teach her niece the lessons that she learnt throughout her life.
