Reyna, a single mother in a relationship with a criminal, her Aunt Kiki challenges her, not taking any prisoners in her opposition of the whimsical self centred ways of Reyna.

The first few pages fill us in on the fragrant history of Kiki. I didn’t like the style of this, it didn’t establish character well but I pressed on. Once we get into the main narrative we find an annoying Reyna who does all the. Wrong things while the sharp Kiki tries to steer her to safer ground.

I liked Kiki but not Reyna, but both characters work really well together as they establish their very different personalities upon you. It’s very well written and I would read on if I had the opportunity. However this is not Colditz and I do have other books to read. And this doesn’t offer a plot that is worthy of a que jump.
