I don't think I've seen quite enough of this book to understand what it's trying to do yet. The introduction to the characters happens quickly, but you only get a single dimension at first, so it's hard to tell where the story is leading. Lots of threads that will take time to join up. But because of this, it's easy to say I'd like to read on! The prose is lyrical and compelling. Not keen on the cover as I don't see the need to make the awards so big!
