In all fairness to both this book and myself, I am not going to like everything I have ever read but that does not necessarily mean a book is bad. I dislike the first person perspective of Improvement. The fast paced writing leaves me spinning in a spiral waiting for a break to happen. The concept of having two characters who care deeply for each other such that their lives crossover and their conflicting views are explored is interesting. The main character's lack of understanding in her aunt Kiki's actions is understandable because Kiki is another person whose perspective we do not personally explore. That being said, it is difficult for me at least to relate to the main character as well.
