First of all I should definitely say that I loved how the book was set out. The fact that there were six narrators of the story made it feel as though I was getting different viewpoints and it really made the novel come together as a whole.
Before this book I had never read anything by Joan Silber, so I was surprised at how easy to read her writing style was, drawing me into the book from the very beginning. I liked how each character's choices impacted the others in sometimes unexpected ways, having somewhat of a snowball effect throughout the book. I also liked the exploration of the different cultures, as although the book is mainly set in New York, it also makes mention of Berlin and Turkey.
