For me 'Improvement' was simply okay, I was initially drawn to the cover which created a bit of mystery with its simplicity, yet was still eye catching and a good looking book. The characters were believable yet somewhat hollow, and unremarkable. Though this book was in itself well wrote, and by an acclaimed author, who has won awards for this very title, it just did not grip me. I enjoyed what I was reading but there was nothing keeping me reading, and once I put the book down I wasn't especially
eager to pick it back up, which is a shame because I did have high hopes for 'Improvement' I enjoyed the overall premise of this novel but I can't say that this is a book I am going to remember or necessarily recommend to other readers.
