Ok, so first I need to say that the cover of this book is beautiful and I love how it ties into the book throughout. I loved Kiki and there was parts of the story I got really into. The problem I had is that there were whole chapters that I felt like I could skip over and that I felt my eyes glazing instead of taking in the information. When I first got this book it screamed a classic and I just think that it might not be for me. The ending of the book is lovely and as I mentioned, the Kiki character really ties the book together and has a very understanding personality. I don’t think I will be picking up another Joan Silber book anytime soon. Maybe I’m just not prestigious enough for a Faulkner award winner!
