I loved the way the book starts with a simple map of the village & that the Prologue sets out the story in about 2 or 3 pages.
This all made the rest very easy to read - it was a very straight forward / simple writing style - not at all pretentious. The ladies are politely described when the reader first encounters them & I immediately felt I knew them
