I really enjoyed the home fires tv series and to see that there was a book available was actually really exciting!
This is such a well written book that you really do feel like you are right there in the 1940's following the stories of the ladies left behind while the men are at war.
It was great to see what the characters have been up to since the series ended and also to have a lot of questions answered as the ending has bugged me ever since.
The story really filled the gap that the tv series left for me and to be honest I wouldn't mind if there were more books to come in the series!
