Having never read this sort of fiction before (historical, world war focused) I was pleasantly surprised! I loved how this book focuses on the characters lives more than the history of the time it is set (yet it doesn't forget that and it does play its part). The relationships and hardships of the characters are what made this book for me, and it made me cry at one point.
The writing style is easy to read and the plot moves along smoothly. The author manages to weave together the stories of several characters whild not being confusing. I loved following each characters story to their conclusions. 4 stars from me! 🌟🌟🌟🌟
