This book is another example of why Robert Muchamore is one of my favourite authors. I read my way through this hardly putting it down.

Set in the not too distant future it focuses on the lives of two teens, Harry and Charlie at a time where Gene editing has exploded and genetic modification is becoming the norm.

However with the new technology allowing people to customise their attributes comes that darker side of Synthetic viruses and biological threats, and unforeseen mutations that can go out of control.

From a Quater-back bombing his school to remove his competition to epidemics and quarantine protocols Killer T takes you on a rollercoaster ride through what can happen when harmful tech becomes readily available.

Throw in some shady corporations and rapidly changing dynamics and storylines and this book has a lot going for it.

As you,the reader, follow the story and the chaos and darker side of things comes more into the foreground you realise how well researched this book is and how plausible a lot of what he writes about could be.

The only reason I gave this book 4 stars instead of 5 is I felt at times the story got sidetracked or lost impetus, which was then covered by a timeline jump instead of a nice resolution or cliff hanger.

However it still was a gripping read and the writing style was very similar to his CHERUB novels, even though the story was completely different.

I enjoyed this! If you've read and enjoyed his other works, or are a fan of darker almost dystopian fiction I think you'd also like this.
