I was really drawn towards this book because I absolutely love dystopians!! I was so excited because a deadly virus?? gene-editing technology?? I have enjoyed other books by Muchamore in the past including the Cherub series (which I adored!) so I was ready to be impressed.
However, this book was not what I thought it was and was more of a romance than a thrilling dystopian which was really disappointing. There were definitely some interesting plot points but sadly I was not able to connect to Robert Muchamore's characters as much as I had been able to previously. In addition, I found the writing to be very slow and even a bit dull at points.
I wanted to like this book and I did at first but it was too long and too slow for me and I disliked the characters.
