I was really grabbed by this book as soon as I started the First Look. It's instantly clear that Zoe is an anxious and unhappy woman and it soon emerges that her husband is the source of that pain. I really enjoyed what I saw of the 'then and now' concept and the flashbacks to Zoe's friendship with Lizzy and the contrast between the life she lives now. The blurb makes it clear that Zoe escapes from Daniel and I am rooting for her to get away and stay free from him. It's exactly the sort of book I enjoy.
I liked the cover, I'm not sure it really matches the story but it is striking and would grab my attention on the shelf.
