From the first impression I was instantly hooked and as the story developed I have to say that I did not see a single one of the plot twists coming.

This novel is a psychological thriller about a woman escaping her abusive marriage - in a very small nutshell. It is fast paced, a proper page turner, that leaves you desperate to find out how it ends.

There are three parts that adopt different narratives and tell distinctly different sections of the story, though I do have to say my favourite was definitely the first where atmosphere and suspense were built so naturally that I felt I was there in the story. Whereas, the third section felt slightly far-fetched and almost repetitive, but the writing style was lovely and having said this, do feel that the overall message was valuable to the story.

The relationships and characters in this novel are well fleshed out and have a depth that I think has been masterfully created by the writer. There was an insight into domestic abuse, which was carefully and sensitively handled.
