I have not read the previous books in the Dan Forrester series but this did not affect my enjoyment of the First Look. It peaked my interest from the very first page and left me wanting to read more right away to unravel the mystery.
I felt like all the characters were well developed and I got a real sense of all of their personalities early on. I'm intrigued to see where the story heads as we know there is more to Connor's death as the first chapter is from his perspective.
I really like the cover as the black and white photograph with large orange text is eye-catching and it seems to suit the book well based on the First Look.
