The front cover works well for the book as it immediately gave me an idea as to what the book was going to be about. This is not really the genre I tend to read in-although I do enjoy a good murder mystery- however the blurb was intriguing. The first chapter was good at setting the base for the rest of the novel and I wouldn't mind reading further to see what will unfold next.
